French Press Brew Guide
French Press Recipe: 4 Cups (1:12 ratio)
What you’ll need:
- Digital Kitchen Scale
- 4 cup French Press
- 30 grams Coffee
- 350 grams Water
Remove plunger/lid from the body of the French Press.
Place body of French Press on the scale.
Grind 30 grams of coarse ground coffee.
Bring water to 210° F (just off boil).
Pour 30 grams coarse ground coffee into French Press and shake to create even bed.
Tare the scale to 0.
Start timer and pour 60 grams water into the French Press.
Use a spoon to give a quick stir ensuring the water saturates all of the ground coffee.
Allow to rest (bloom) until timer reaches 30 seconds.
At 30 seconds pour additional water into the French Press to 350 grams.
Place the plunger/lid on the body but do not plunge!
Allow to steep for 4 minutes.
At 4 minutes gently press the plunger down and serve immediately.
( Do not allow coffee to remain in the press after plunging. It will become over extracted and quite unpleasant to the taste )
